Tecnavia participated in the 16th Eumetsat User Forum in Africa, Benin, 16 to 20 September 2024
Tecnavia participated in the 16th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa, held in Cotonou, Benin, 16 to 20 September 2024. This event brought together meteorologists from across Africa to discuss the latest developments, share knowledge, and exchange best practices.
The forum, which takes place every two years in a different African country, has proven to be an excellent opportunity for constructive dialogue between EUMETSAT and data users in Africa. This year’s focus was on the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellites, that will help to enhance the ability of African meteorological services to predict severe weather events, such as storms, more accurately and quickly.
A new data reception station was installed in Cotonou, Benin, to facilitate a live demonstration during the event, showcasing the capabilities of the MTG satellites and their potential impact on weather forecasting across the continent.
